Learning to Show Up for Others Like We Wanted Others to Show Up for Us
Consider Showing Up for Yourself, Your Family, and Your Community
In Haitian creole, we call home, “Lakay.”
It has a certain ring to it, especially in concert with Lekol (school) and Legliz (church). For Haitian Americans, it’s the closest way for us to express that we are home. This home is safe to place. Culture is the total wealth of memories that we carry and share with the world. It is in that culture that we (in the same token, you) are compelled to speak.
It’s interesting to hear about Alainta Alcin’s experience of hardly ever home, yet still finding herself. In this solo episode of the Financial Griot, Alainta gives an emotionally palpable perspective of allowing change to manifest in her life.

To think and truly allow herself to be wealthy, whereas others said “No.”
Additionally, she realizes that at some point, she became the change that the world needed. She earned her Master, purchased her first home as a single Black woman, and reached over $50,0000 in investments.
All to find, that life is a process and that we are vehicles. Sit back, take notes, comment, and like.
This channel grows with your support and it changes thoughts and ultimately lives. We are definitely showing up to the value of wealth in our lives.

Here’s a bit of background information about our name and who we are:
The Financial Griot is a play on two words (Finance + Griot) that hold significance in closing the racial wealth gap.
Merriam-Webster defines a Griot as a West African historian, storyteller, praise singer, poet, or musician. The griot is a repository of oral tradition and is often seen as a leader due to their position as an advisor to royal personages. As a result of the former of these two functions, they are sometimes called a bard.
As such, we tell stories that others don’t. Stories that we should share for growth, opportunity, and understanding. Beyond that, we talk about Finances. Specifically, how to become Financially literate, incorporate actionable steps, and ultimately build generational wealth.
So there you have it, The Financial Griot, or TFG for short. You will be in for a treat. The hosts were able to amass over $2 Million in wealth in about 8 years and are on track to retire early. If you want the secrets; we will gladly share them since the opportunity is abundant and Win-Win.
