Finding Opportunities in Ownership and Real Estate ft. Linda Vincent
Ownership and Investing in Real Estate is the name of the modern financial game. The TFG podcast is back at it again!
Today, we have REAL estate agent Linda Vincent @HomegirlLinda (from SheMotivates) joining us to discuss the nuisance with Real Estate and the importance of securing a legacy with home ownership. We do emphasize the REAL part since many friends are now “agents”.
Alainta pushes back at our guest and loses decorum; debate about housing opportunity and speculation; LOL it’s all good. Lawrence was shocked but they know each other offline. The Real Estate beef is real. Great points are made for an important topic as mortgage rates race north of 7% for the foreseeable future.
The real question remains, why are so many Americans abandoning homeownership? Let’s talk.

If you want to be wealthy, you have to own Real Estate
There is no real way around it. Ownership is wealth. If this is a game of 3D monopoly, going around renting isn’t going to be enough. Especially if you intend to retire comfortably.
Real Estate ownership compliments wealth building in three ways.
For starters, it helps to stabilize housing expenses. Today, most renters are paying nearly 2.5 times more for their lodging than owners. Secondly, it helps initiate forced savings, a process that shifts from a riskier lifestyle to a more conservative one. And finally, the hidden long-term gem, the best benefit of homeownership is value appreciation.
As a bonus, the IRS deems Capital Gains from the sale of homes as tax-free up to $250,000 for single taxpayers and $500,000 for married taxpayers.
