Here are the Top 10 TNFG picks for New Financial Literacy Youtubers for Beginners
Too many people spend money they earned… to buy things they don’t want… to impress people that they don’t like.
Will Rogers
Many are struggling with their finances from credit card interest fees stacking up, bad money management habits, or just following bad advice. For a lot of us, the dream school โ dream job โ and dream spouse did not work out on the first, second, or even third try. It does not mean that it is over.
This is the part of the movie when the lead actor/actress gets back up again. This is the part where you get back up again to regain control of the narrative. No matter if it is on a tablet, laptop, smart TV, or cell phone, you have access to YouTube; you have access to knowledge.
One of the best forms of active knowledge requires ACTIVE LISTENING.
While podcasting provides an amazing avenue to listen, YouTube offers an engaging module where you can pause, rewind, save, and truly absorb a wealth of new opportunities. Some people are both visual and audio learners like me. It’s best to feed your mind and curate your digital landscape. The goal is to create a space where opportunity finds you.

The New Financial Literacy Youtubers On The Block
If you show me your friends, I can tell you exactly who you are; the same can be said about what you watch.
While there are tons of great content on YouTube, it’s often difficult to sort through what works. This is a list of the new or newish people that really provide great content in a varied way. There is no age range for quality in my opinion and there is no style. I don’t care if the video has high production value or is just a starter kit, the goal is to educate.
If they can do that, I will add them to the list. Know of anyone else who should be included, comment below.
If you want to be wealthy, start by changing the content you watch and the content you seek. Broaden your playlist, you are missing 99% of the most impactful media in your life. If all you do is watch ESPN, you will be stuck on the sideline spectating the action. Instead, get in the game and modify it to grow your wealth.
These are The Neighborhood Finance Guyโs Top Ten New Financial YouTubers based on financial expertise, money management, mindset development, investing, and real estate.
1. The Dream Green Show
Zeek aka “Crypto Zeek” started slow at first. I tuned in about 2 years ago by mistake. Though I wasn’t on the Robinhood or Crypto game, I found his perspective super refreshing. Ultimately, had to put him at the top of the list for beginners.
In many ways, he encapsulates the millennial millionaire dream without being too nerdy and too complicated. Every once in a while he drops some unique investing gems like the portfolio visualizer. He beat my estimates a few times. Damn you $NIO – why did you fail me.
The videos range from Dividend Investing, Personal Finance, Cryptocurrency and Real Estate. He is an Ex-Professional Athlete and a University of Houston Graduate. He puts in the work and has the discipline. I highly recommend him to newcomers, especially those who often don’t see themselves in the financial literacy space.
Diversity and Inclusion matter. He has elements that are missing in financial literacy YouTubers. Subtlety and relatable charm.

3. Humphrey Yang
A new kid on the block, Humphrey Yang is an independent content creator. Since most of his personal information is redacted online, the only thing I can say is that he did work as a Financial Planner in the past. He legit knows his information. If you are looking for a deep dive into various financial literacy content, I think his delivery is fair and easy to follow.
Some of his top content include, How to Start a Dividend Stock Portfolio with $1,000, The Best 5 Index Funds to Own for Life, and Revealing his own ROTH IRA portfolio. I think Yang represents one of the modern financial literacy YouTubers that is way more approachable for a TikTok generation.
4. Dividend Growth Investing
Jake has been investing for a while but started to share a lot of his expertise on dividends:
This content is centered around new and beginner investors looking for new ways to grow cash flow through dividend growth investing. The goal of every video is to inspire and educate new investors interested in learning about dividend investing and the FIRE movement.
Jake invests to live off my dividend growth portfolio with M1 Finance and Vanguard. Besides being a dividend nerd, he is a pretty normal dude living in Austin, Texas.

He represents one of the rare financial literacy YouTubers that is accredited.
7. Retirement Planning Demystified
“Demystifying” retirement planning by providing easy-to-understand explanations of the various pieces that go into financial planning for retirement. Topics covered include Social Security, pensions, annuities, budgeting, IRAs, Roth IRAs, 401(k)s, 403(b)s, investments, Medicare, insurance, housing, estate planning, and taxes.
It’s a bit more but I like my finance information boring so it really works. Here are a few highlights:
- What is the Rule of 55?
- When to start Social Security?
- Are Social Security Benefits Taxable?
- What is Modified Adjusted Gross Income, or MAGI?
8. Ali Abdaal is likely one of the quintessential financial literacy YouTubers
Ali got on the scene about 3 years ago and now at 1.6M views; you will start seeing him more and more. Quick background:
Ali is a Cambridge University medicine graduate, now working as a junior doctor in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS). He used to make videos about life as a medical student but now vlogs about life as a doctor. He also studies videos, and tech reviews and does the occasional video of him and his friends singing songs.
This guy also learned to code at 12… Suffice to say, he is really damn good at communicating messages to an audience. Although his space is not just Financial Literacy; I still think his content is a welcome addition to this space. We definitely need to feed our minds and surround our digital space with better content.
This is one.
Other great content from Ali include but not limited to Tiny Changes, Remarkable Results, What Makes People Successful?, and My Favorite Productivity Book.

He provides quality content.
