Love is definitely an intentional action verb. Love is the absence of Disney or Rom-Com expectations. You have to live in the now to feel it and nurture its existence.

To quote a great tweet from @sista_theology, “A God that co-signs everything I do, say, think and believe, is not a God; but an idol of my own making.

Too often in this day and age, we relegate the work that needs to be done to others versus gaining a true understanding of our roles.

We are here to serve.

As such, no man is an island, devoid of the purpose of service and being in service with his fellow man.

In this episode, the Financial Griot podcast crew shares what really moves us. The hope is that this ignites your passion for service as well.

As always share, like, and subscribe for real conversations with people on the wealth and happiness journey.ย

In Service of Love in its various forms

Love is not a tangible object, so it isn’t something that we can actually grab onto.

It is a feeling that occurs when you care for something outside yourself. This could be expressed in genuine acts of service, trust, support, and even intimacy. However, unlike TV, love is not constrained to 30 minutes or a 2hr plot.

Real love develops slowly and lasts for a long period of time, perhaps even for life. Love varies. For example, in Christianity, Agape is unconditional love.

“The highest form of love, charity” and “the love of God for man and of man for God” are concepts that transcend through complete devotion and commitment. This is in contrast to philia, brotherly love, or philautia, self-love, as it embraces a universal, unconditional love that transcends and persists regardless of circumstance.

I recently posted about service and community as a form of love that I have for my common man, in the Life after Reaching Financial Independence and Retire Early post. All this to say, it’s important to take action when it comes to love.

If You want to know about us and why this is one of our Acts of Love:

The Financial Griot is a play on two words (Finance + Griot) that hold significance in closing the racial wealth gap, sharing poignant information in a time when love is hard to find.ย

Merriam-Webster defines a Griot as a West African historian, storyteller, praise singer, poet, or musician.

As such, the griot is a repository of the oral tradition. We continue this legacy of service and love by sharing stories that others don’t. Stories that we should share for growth, relationships, opportunity, and understanding.

Beyond that, we talk about Finances. Specifically, how to become Financially literate, incorporate actionable steps, and ultimately build generational wealth.ย So there you have it, The Financial Griot, or TFG for short. You will be in for a treat. The hosts were able to amass over $2.5 Million in wealth in about 9 years and are on track to retire early.

If you want the secrets; we will gladly share them since the opportunity is abundant and Win-Win.

Falling in love is easy. Staying in love that's where it matters most. Love is an action verb. It's a committment to Service.
